The Kepler generator is a type of gas generator, also known as the Kepler gas generator or hydrogen generator. English name: Gas generators
It is often used in experiments involving solid particle and liquid reactions to produce gases. A typical experiment is to use dilute hydrochloric acid and zinc particles to produce hydrogen gas

A gas generation device commonly used in laboratories was invented by Dutch scientist Petrus Jacobus Kipp 1808-1864 and named after him. It consists of three parts: a safety funnel, a container, and a airway. Suitable for the reaction of bulk solids and liquids at room temperature to produce gases, such as hydrogen gas, hydrogen sulfide, etc.

When bulk solids dissolve quickly in a reaction or turn into powder, a Kepler generator cannot be used.

If the generated gas is difficult to dissolve in the reaction solution, it can be used. Carbon dioxide is soluble in water but insoluble in hydrochloric acid; Therefore, when reacting limestone with hydrochloric acid to produce carbon dioxide, a starter generator can be used.
Reaction principle
A large amount of hydrogen gas is produced in the laboratory, and a commonly used starter generator is used. It consists of three parts: a safety funnel, a container, and a airway. At the beginning of use, place the instrument horizontally, add zinc particles through the mouth of the container inserted into the air duct, then position the instrument correctly, and then plug the plug of the air duct. Then add dilute hydrochloric acid from the safety funnel opening. When in use, twist the piston of the airway, and the acid flows from the spherical funnel to the bottom of the container, then rises to the middle and reacts with the zinc particles, producing hydrogen gas that is released from the airway. When not in use, close the piston of the air duct. The hydrogen gas generated by the continuous reaction in the container increases the pressure inside the container, and the acid is hydraulically returned to the spherical funnel, causing the acid to come into contact with the zinc particles and the reaction to stop on its own. It is very convenient to use a Kepler generator to produce hydrogen gas, and the occurrence or cessation of the reaction can be controlled in a timely manner.
